Privileged to live in beautiful BC, we love to spend as much time as we can, outdoors. Literally hundreds of beautiful beaches, waterfalls and access to rivers make a life close Nature possible.
After a busy day of work we have the freedom to choose to visit different beautiful places every night. Most of the time it pulls us down to the beach, to breath, to relax and to reflect.
Many people are drawn to watch the sunsets, since specially this spring the evening sky is putting up an extraordinary show for us.
Beautiful formations and extraordinary colours from yellow to orange to dark red and purple.
We all love the changes almost by the second and try to get the best photo.
The internet is full of thousands of sunset pictures, but we never get tired of capturing just ' the one'
I believe simply by slowing down, sitting still and observing, sunsets gives us the opportunity to practise mindfulness. What better way to practise being aware of the present moment than by watching literal passing of time as the sun sinks below the horizon.
These are the moments where we reflect, where we feel in peace with us and the world around us. A sunsets reminds us that everything is going to come to an end, the good things as well as the bad things in life. So better remember to enjoy what we have right now and enjoy the moment. By witnessing the beauty and awe of a sunset, we can slow down our perception of time. According to a 2012 research, people who felt the --awes-- defined as " the emotion that arises when one encounters something so strikingly vast that it provokes a need to update one's mental schemas" felt like the had more time available and where less impatient. So experiences of the --awe-- bring people into the present moment.
So this speaks for one of my favourite Authors Eckhart Tolle and his book 'Stillness Speaks'
Hope you can have a minute to slow down and to read. It's well worth your time.
I need someone to pick out one best service from those on this list here.
